Over five years, DesignGeist collaborated with BC Housing to design a series of quarterly reports for the Communications Branch, supporting internal governance, accountability, and stakeholder reporting.
The reports translated complex performance data, initiatives, and outcomes into accessible formats aligned with the organization’s strategic communications framework.
The challenge was to create a reporting system that remained consistent across quarters while flexibly accommodating evolving data, initiatives, and priorities, with the utmost clarity.

Rather than treating each report as a standalone deliverable, the work focused on building a modular reporting framework organized around distinct goals and strategic pillars for the team.
A flexible grid, typographic hierarchy, and standardized data visualization components enabled new content to be integrated each quarter while maintaining continuity. Visual conventions distinguished metrics, case studies, and narrative content, supporting quick scanning and detailed review.
The resulting reporting system enabled BC Housing’s communication team to communicate performance consistently within a uniform visual structure over time. The framework expanded on BC Housing’s graphic standard guidelines and supported internal accountability and strategic decision-making.
